Epidotrian Skeletons are Pre-Hardmode enemies that spawn on the Surface during the Night, as well as in the Cavern layer. Initially, they alternate between being idle and wandering around. Upon noticing the player or taking damage, they will enter an attacking state, pursuing their target. They can only deal contact damage and posses no other means of attack.

Personalities

Just like most of the skeletons added by Mod of Redemption, Epidotrian Skeleton can spawn with different personalities, which affect its stats and behavior.

Normal is the most common one (40.82% chance) and has base stats.

Aggressive is the second most common personality (28.57% chance), possessing increased stats. Aggressive Skeletons will target Lost Souls, and occasionally will target other enemies.

Calm is a common personality (24.49% chance) that comes with reduced stats. They will not target the player, unless provoked.

Soulful is a rare personality (4.08%) and comes with a unique sprite. Soulful Skeletons have heavily increased stats and spawn larger Lost Souls on death.

Greedy is the rarest personality (2.04%) and also comes with a unique sprite. Greedy Skeletons have reduced damage, but an increase to most other stats. They will try to run away after noticing the player instead of engaging them head on. Upon taking damage, they have a 33% chance to drop an Antique Dorul, which can happen up to 10 times. Additionally, Greedy Skeletons will always drop 6-12 Antique Doruls upon death.

In addition to the above personalities, an Epidotrian Skeleton has a 33% chance to spawn with Glowing Eyes, which will increase its stats. They will not target Lost Souls, regardless of their base personality. Additionally, killing a Glowing Eyes Skeleton will always spawn a Lost Soul as opposed to the usual 33% chance. Soulful Skeletons always spawn with Glowing Eyes.

Trivia

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Epidotrian Skeleton: "These skeletons are from Epidotra's mainland, they are slightly taller and smarter than the island's ones. Their strength is dependent on their soul, which is also known as Willpower."
