The Space Paladin Mk.I is a Hardmode enemy that rarely spawns on the Surface during the day and only when the player's Slayer Star Rating (SSR) is at 3 or higher. Initially, it alternates between being idle and wandering around. Space Paladins do not attack the player, unless attacked first or if the player's SSR is above 0. However, due to their spawn condition they will almost always attack the player on sight. Space Paladins possess a shield that reduces all damage from the front to 1. This shield cannot be broken, but it gets lowered during the Space Paladin's ground slam attack. They can perform an Eye Beam attack, similar to that of the Prototype Silver Mk.I, shooting 4 lasers in a quick succession. Alternatively, they can leap high into the air and slam down, producing 26 Electric Bolts in total that move outward in a circle, as well as Ground Shock.gifShockwaves that cover the whole ground.

Upon reaching 20% of its max health, the Space Paladin will try to teleport away. If it successfully leaves, the player's SSR will increase by 1, up to 5 max. Additionally, Space Paladins will not try to teleport if the player's SSR is at 5 or higher.

Trivia

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Space Paladin Mk.I: "The 4th Slayer Unit constructed, after Space Keeper. This unit uses newer shield technology compared to King Slayer's Prototype Multium vessel, and is capable of absorbing far greater impacts; in addition to the thick durable plating and cyber blade, this robot was built for war."
