Surface Portal

The Surface Portal is a structure that generates on the surface.

To the left of the portal is a small shrine, containing the Forbidden Ritual. Additionally, there is an opening that leads to the Fool's cave, which contains a few Emeralds embedded in Dirt and the Newb Mound. Breaking the Mound will awaken the Fool.

On the second in-game day, a question mark will appear on the minimap at the portal's location along with a status message that says "A portal rumbles... (Check minimap for location)". Moving close to the portal at any time after this status message will trigger a cutscene where a Wayfarer will hop out of the portal - Zephos in Corruption worlds and Daerel in Crimson worlds. After the cutscene, he will hop back into the portal and drop the Chalice Fragments. The Wayfarer will return as a Town NPC after the third in-game day.

• This portal leads to Fairwood - Anglon, specifically the Blighted Forest where Thorn, Bane of the Forest is from.
  • Many of the creatures from the mainland (specifically Anglon) came to the island through this portal.
