Surface Portal

The Surface Portal is a structure found on the surface in Forests. The portal cannot yet be entered. To the left of the portal is a small shrine holding the Forbidden Ritual, used to summon the Palebat Imp. Further left is usually a tunnel leading down below the portal into a small opening where you can find a suspicious mound. Mining it will spawn the Fool.

On the second day of a world's creation, a question mark will appear on the minimap at the portal's location and a status message will appear, stating: "A portal rumbles... (Check minimap for location)"
Moving close to the portal at any time beyond this status message will trigger a cutscene where a Wayfarer will hop out of the portal - Zephos in Corruption worlds, and Daerel in Crimson worlds. After the cutscene, he will hop back into the portal and drop the Chalice Fragments.

• This portal is to Fairwood - Anglon, specifically the Blighted Forest where Thorn, Bane of the Forest is from.
  • Many of the creatures from the mainland (specifically Anglon) came to the island through this portal.
