Status messages

Status messages are unique messages that appear in the chat to inform the player of changes that happen in the world, boss actions or activation of a toggleable item. They also serve as a means for bosses to communicate with the player.

Progression

Message Trigger Effect
"The forest flora blooms..." After defeating Thorn, Bane of the Forest. Nightshade and Anglonic Mystic Blossoms begins to grow.
"The caverns are heated with dragon bone..." After defeating Skeletron for the first time in Bad Route. Dragon-Lead Ore now generate in caves.
"Crystals form in the icy caverns..." After defeating Skeletron for the first time in Good Route. Gathic Cryo-Crystal now generates in the ice biome.
"The laboratory's defense systems have malfunctioned..." After defeating all of the Mechanical bosses for the first time. The Laboratory Drones protecting the Abandoned Laboratory deactivates, allowing access to it.
"X sector laser security has been deactivated" After using a Lab Access Panel. Deactivates the green lasers in the lab, allowing further passage. The final access panel states "All laser security systems have been deactivated", and only deactivates the red lasers in the underwater section.
"The Fool has left..." Shortly after defeating Nebuleus, Angel of the Cosmos for the first time.

Death Messages

"<PlayerName> burst into larva!" When the player dies from the Infested debuff
"<PlayerName> had an infection" When the player dies from the Dirty Wound debuff
"<PlayerName> got nibbled to death" When the player dies from the Swarmed! debuff inflicted by Spider Swarmers
"<PlayerName> was turned into a crystal" When the player dies from the Flesh Crystals or Shock debuffs inflicted by Xenomite infection
"<PlayerName> was irradiated" When the player dies from the Irradiated debuff inflicted by Radiation
"<PlayerName> was too glorious" When the player dies from the Incandesence debuff
"<PlayerName> got consumed by the thorns" When the player dies from the Ensnared debuff
"<PlayerName> saw a second sunrise" When the player dies from the Nuclear Warhead's blast
"<PlayerName> was wiped off the face of <world name>" When the player dies from the Nuclear Warhead's blast
"<PlayerName> experienced doomsday" When the player dies from the Nuclear Warhead's blast
"<PlayerName> became a shadow on the ground" When the player dies from the Nuclear Warhead's blast
"<PlayerName> went out with a bang" When the player dies from the Nuclear Warhead's blast
"<PlayerName> couldn't find the fridge in time" Rarely, when the player dies from the Nuclear Warhead's blast
"<PlayerName> experienced DOOR STUCK." When the player dies from attempting to hoik through a Keycard Door in the Abandoned Laboratory

Abandoned Teddy

The Keeper
Message Trigger Effect
"The Keeper noticed the abandoned teddy you're holding..." As soon as The Keeper is summoned while the player is holding the Abandoned Teddy.
"The Keeper's spirit fades away... ?" As soon as The Keeper fades away. The boss fight ends peacefully. Afterwards, the screen shakes for a moment, a circle of light surrounds The Keeper's former position and a mysterious entity says "Octavia..."

Message Trigger Effect
"A sleeping stone appears..." Appears when the player uses an Eaglecrest Spelltome.
"Nebuleus is nowhere to be seen..." When the player attempts to spawn Nebuleus after defeating her final form. Nebuleus' Mirage spawns instead.
