The Fowl Emperor is a pre-Hardmode miniboss fought during the daytime. His primary purpose is to drop the Fowl War Horn, granting access to the Fowl Morning event.
While the Fowl Emperor is alive, the music Fowl Play will play.
Spawn
The Fowl Emperor can be spawned by using an Egg Crown at daytime. Unlike most of Mod of Redemption's boss summoning items, the Egg Crown is consumed on use.
Behavior
The Fowl Emperor walks directly towards the player, performing one of the attacks listed below. He does not deal any contact damage, unless performing the Wing Swipe attack.
Attacks
- Wing Swipe - Swipes at the player using his wings (used when the player is directly in front of him).
- Feather Throw - Laughs before tossing 3
Fowl Feathers in an arc.
- In Expert Mode or while empowered, throws 5 Fowl Feathers instead.
- Below 50% health or while empowered, throws a second flurry of Fowl Feathers immediately after the first one. If both conditions are met, performs 3 throws instead.
- Egg Bombardment - Flies around the player while dropping Egg Bombs at them.
- Below 50% health or while empowered, launches Egg Bombs more frequently.
- Occasionally, the Fowl Emperor will take his crown off and polish it. Dealing damage to him will knock the crown out of his wings, which will cause him to enter his Mad state. If the crown isn't knocked out in time, Fowl Emperor will become empowered, granting him increased movement speed, +10 defense, as well as strengthening his attacks. The empowered state will wear off once the player knocks the crown out of the Fowl Emperor's wings.
Mad state
While in Mad state, the Fowl Emperor will gain 90% damage reduction and will run around frantically. He will periodically summon Chick Envoys, Chickadiers, and Coop Crates. The first two simply run at the player to deal damage, with Chickadiers being able to throw Mini Egg Bombs at the player. A maximum of 4 Chick Envoys, 2 Chickadiers and 1 Coop Crate can exist at once. Coop Crates drop Egg Crackers, which can be thrown at the Fowl Emperor to stun him, allowing the player to deal double damage to him. Afterwards, Fowl Emperor will revert back to his normal state until he loses the crown again.

Trivia
Bestiary entries
- Fowl Emperor: "An Anglonic forest rooster with quite the personality. Was this intelligent animal the handiwork of a human's soul, or perhaps he was some mythological creature? We may never know. It may have just been a chicken, but it was a reminder of the hideous truth that, regardless of species, monarchy perpetuates archaic views of class and degrades others based on arbitrary standards."
- Chick Envoy: "A loyal messenger of the Fowl Emperor. Don't ask where they got their hats from."
- Chickadier: "A soldier of the Fowl Emperor. Don't ask where they get their explosive eggs from."
- Coop Crate: "A lootbox for people who specifically want an explosive egg. The chickens have not realised they need the randomness aspect for it to actually be exciting."
