Skeleton Wardens are Pre-Hardmode enemies that spawn on the Surface during the Night. They carry a shield that possesses 20 Guard Points and absorbs all damage dealt to the Warden from the front. Wardens can also raise the shield to protect themselves from above. Initially, Wardens alternate between being idle and wandering around. Upon spotting the player or getting attacked, they will enter their blocking state, always trying to face towards the target. If the shield breaks, they will instead try to run away. When a Skeleton Warden notices an Undead or a Skeleton Type enemy, it will enter its defending state, positioning itself in front of the chosen enemy. The Warden will always try to protect them, even if its shield is broken. Getting close to a Skeleton Warden will make him perform a shield bash attack (unless the shield is broken), which has very high knockback.
Personalities
Just like most of the skeletons added by Mod of Redemption, Skeleton Warden can spawn with different personalities, which affect its stats and behavior.
Normal is the most common one (42.55% chance) and has base stats.
Calm is the second most common personality (34.04% chance) that comes with reduced stats.
Aggressive is a rarer personality (17.02% chance), possessing increased stats.
Soulful is a rare personality (4.26%) and comes with a unique sprite. Soulful Wardens have heavily increased stats and spawn larger Lost Souls on death. Additionally, they count as having Glowing Eyes, which further increases their stats and makes them always spawn a Lost Soul on death.
Greedy is the rarest personality (2.13%) and also comes with a unique sprite. Greedy Wardens have reduced damage, but an increase to most other stats. Upon taking damage, they have a 33% chance to drop an Antique Dorul, which can happen up to 10 times. Additionally, Greedy Wardens will always drop 6-12 Antique Doruls upon death.
