The Gift Drone is a friendly NPC that can appear throughout the game's progression. It is immune to damage and only spawns under specific circumstances.

The first Gift Drone has a chance to spawn anywhere on the Surface during the day after the player has first encountered the Abandoned Lab. Upon coming close to the player, the Drone will drop Omega's Gift and fly away.

The second Gift Drone appears after defeating Irradiated Behemoth. After a brief speech from Girus, the Drone will drop the Omega Transmitter and fly away.

The third Gift Drone appears after defeating Moon Lord. Girus will have different dialogue, depending on how much the player has previously interacted with the Lab and Omega Prototypes. Afterwards the Drone will drop the Keycard and fly away.

If the player has defeated the Irradiated Behemoth, but hasn't defeated the first two Omega Prototypes

• "You still haven't defeated the previous challenges, even now?"
• "Well, I suppose a little overpreparation never hurt anyone."
• "Here, I've sent a keycard your way. Consider it a little gift in advance."
• "... You'll still need to take on the first two Prototypes first. As a formality of course."

If the player hasn't defeated the Irradiated Behemoth

• "Goodness, you are boring."
• "The Lab's security has been disabled for weeks!"
• "It's frankly quite astonishing that you never noticed."
• "Anyway, take this keycard and I'll fill you in there."
