The Moonflare Staff is a craftable Pre-Hardmode summon weapon. It summons a Moonflare Guardian that fires 2 small homing Moonflare bolts at nearby enemies. If the Moonflare Guardian is active at night, it will buff 1 other minion summoned by the player, giving it +3 base damage and a slight glow. 1 Guardian can only buff 1 other minion.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stats bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only significant advantage a Mythical weapon has over a Ruthless one is knockback.
