The Moonflare Staff in use.
The Moonflare Staff is a craftable pre-Hardmode summon weapon. When used, it summons a Moonflare Guardian minion that fires 2 homing Lunar Bolts at nearby enemies. If the Moonflare Guardian is active at night and not during the New Moon phase, it will periodically buff other minions summoned by the player, giving them +3 flat damage and a slight light aura for 5 seconds. Additionally, Moonflare Guardians cannot buff each other.
Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stats bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only significant advantage a Mythical weapon has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

Notes
- The Moonflare Staff can only be crafted at night and cannot be crafted on a New Moon.
- During the day or the New Moon Phase, the Moonflare Staff will gain a tooltip line, saying "There is no moonlight to reflect..."
