The Android Mk.I is a Hardmode enemy found roaming the Surface during the Day. Initially, it alternates between being idle and wandering around, occasionally scanning nearby players and NPCs. Androids do not attack the player, unless their Slayer Star Rating (SSR) is above 0. After being hit, they will enter an attacking state, dealing contact damage and shooting homing Fist Rockets.gifFist Rockets. Any nearby Androids, Prototype Silvers and Space Paladins will also start attacking the aggressor. They will lose interest and become neutral if the player leaves their line of sight for long enough.

Upon reaching 33% of its max health, the Android will try to teleport away. If the Android successfully leaves, the player's SSR will increase by 1, up to 2 max. Additionally, Androids will not try to teleport if the player's SSR is 2 or higher.

After defeating Moon Lord and if the player has given Uranium to King Slayer III, an Android will spawn during the day, relaying King Slayer's message about his approaching departure. Killing that Android will spawn a second one that will attempt to relay the message again. If the player has given Ship Hull Plating to King Slayer III, killing the second Android will spawn a third. The third Android will give up trying to converse normally with the player and teleport away, spawning 6 Space Paladins in its place and setting SSR to 1, forcing the player to fight them. Afterwards, the first Android may spawn again, until the message is relayed or the player defeats the Omega Obliterator or Nebuleus.

Types

Androids come in 3 variants: Normal, Green and Pink, with the first two only having cosmetic differences. Pink Androids will always be named "Apidroid" and have massively increased defense, but reduced health. Killing an Apidroid will unlock additional information about them in the Android Mk.I's Bestiary entry.

Quotes

Scanning the target:

  • "Human scanned..." (Scanning the player)
  • "Chicken scanned..." (If the player is wearing the Crown of the King)
  • "Robot scanned..." (If the player is wearing the T-Bot set)
  • "<NPC name> scanned..." (Scanning NPCs)
  • "Unknown entity scanned..." (If the target doesn't have a name)

Relaying King Slayer III's message:

First Android:
  • "Don't attack."
  • "I've come to relay a message from King Slayer -"
  • ""I'll be heading off to the other world soon, so if you have any unfinished business with me, I'd get on that sooner rather than later.""
Second Android:
  • "Well aren't you a little trigger-happy."
  • "You know there's like a million of us, right? Anyway, I've come to relay a message from King Slayer -"
  • ""I'll be heading off to the other world soon, so if you have any unfinished business with me, I'd get on that sooner rather than later.""
Third Android:
  • "Screw you too I guess."

Trivia

    • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Android Mk.I: "Fodder sent down to the island by King Slayer III to scan. These are the first iteration of the Android Unit and the first robots designed by King Slayer during his million year voyage. Their original purpose was to bring company and life to the SoS, however they have since been fitted with more combat-oriented parts. When damaged, they will retreat back to the SoS and alert the network. Apidroids were an experiment with a highly durable metal from a distant star system. The metal - dubbed 'Rose Titanium' by King Slayer III - is one of the strongest materials discovered in the galaxy. However, King Slayer III hated its pink tinge, and so stubbornly refused to use it after making a few Androids out of it."
